Finovra AI

Accounting software for growing US businesses

Most US small businesses start on cloud bookkeeping software, and many outgrow it. This guide lists what to check when you compare options, and where Finovra stands on each point today. Finovra is in development and not yet open to customers.

Signs you are outgrowing your current setup

Month-end means exporting to spreadsheets to make adjustments the system can't hold. Someone can still change a month you've already reported to your bank or board. You are collecting sales tax in more than one state and tracking it by hand.

You've added a second legal entity, perhaps a Canadian subsidiary, and now keep two sets of books that never quite agree. Or you want AI to take repetitive work off your team, but can't let it post to the books unchecked.

Questions to ask any vendor

  • Can a posted entry be edited?

If yes, ask how the change is recorded and who can make it.

  • What can AI change on its own?

Ask for the exact permissions an AI feature has, and whether its actions appear in the audit log.

  • How is sales tax handled?

Calculation, filing and nexus tracking are different things. Ask which ones the product actually does.

  • What does the trial balance tie to?

Reports should come from the same posted entries, not a separate copy.
